SecurityVision & SSAIB promoting education and qualifications within the Security industry.
Sponsored by the SSAIB conducted by Martin Kane of ECS Ltd, the installer workshops are designed to keep all installers up to date on the developments and changes taking place in the industry to the European Standards and coming Codes of Practice. These are not seminars but workshops and each attendee will receive a Certificate of attendance, which will count towards Acquired Prior Learning (APL) for the 1882 National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) levels 2
and 3.

Workshops in place for Coventry, 4th September 2007, Rioch Arena

10.00 Update on the revisions of the European Standards.
Looking at the changes and revisions that have taken place to the European Standards over the past few years and the effects and changes they will make to the working practices of the installer. All delegates will also receive a Certificate which will count towards NVQ’s level 2 and 3 as part of APL (Acquired Prior Learning)

1:30. DD263:2007 Intruder and Hold-up Alarm Systems
This is a new draft for development code of practice for the commissioning, maintenance and remote support, that will eventually become a requirement and is intended to be used in conjunction with PD6662, Scheme for application of European Standards for the intruder and hold-up alarm system. This workshop will help you to prepare for when you have to comply with the DD263:2007. All delegates will also receive a Certificate which will count towards NVQ’s level 2 and 3 as part of APL (Acquired Prior Learning)

The level 3 1882 NVQ qualification is now a necessity for any installer who may have to work on building sites, which requires you to have a Construction Skills Certificate, as it exempts you from the requirement of a Health & Safety test, so long as you have achieved the award within the last 5 years. NVQ’s are competency based and allow you to work and achieve a qualification at the same time without the requirement to attend college. You can discuss and obtain information regarding NVQ qualifications and registration at the SSAIB stand.

The SSAIB have sponsored these workshops as we actively promote excellence within the security industry. The future of the security industry is dependent on skilled qualified installers. Employing new staff and ensuring existing staff have a recognised creditable qualification should be a given for any professional installation firm.

The workshops will be conducted by Martin Kane of ECS Ltd. ECS provides independent advice within the electronic security systems field.
